When moving to Florida with plans to purchase a business, I quickly recognized the need to utilize a broker to represent me throughout the buying process. I wanted someone familiar with the local economy, but more importantly, I wanted to find someone with a global mindset and experiences across multiple industries. We had been to disney a few years ago. When we were staying in the resort my wife and I were sitting in the jacuzzi and I said to her, “I could get used to this kind of lifestyle.” That started the ball rolling. Initially I started looking for work but was more successful by getting in touch with Ian and buying our own business. We found Ian through a programme on TV in the UK. After watching the show as you do, I googled Ian and saw him on LinkedIn. I got in touch and had a brief phone call and we were set. He filled in the gaps as I had already being researching visa options and this is where Ian’s personal experience kicked in, he knew where I was and what we needed to do to achieve our goal!

After researching the businesses listed on his site, he pointed out the correct businesses that would fit our visa requirements and actually be viable businesses. Remembering at all times it’s not just about the quick “Let’s get you here and the rest is up to you.” He advised me which CPA to use and I had found the visa company I wanted to use but when he recommended them too. I was sure I had made the right choice with Ian representing us.

We were very much satisfied with the timing of our purchase from start to finish. The only hold-up was the previous owner. He was busy and sometimes caused delays but Ian guided us through the entire process.
What could Ian have done better to help with the process?

I have already recommended Ian to others and I will do the same going forward.

I do not see Ian as just a guy I hired to find a business and move to Florida, I will see him as a friend that had the same vision as me and one day hope I can extend the favour and help Ian.
